A quick guide to the best Christmas markets in Rome over the 2025 festive season.
Piazza Navona: Mercatino della Befana
Rome’s popular Christmas market in Piazza Navona takes place from 1 December to 6 January 2026. The stalls sell toys, Christmas decorations, sweets, books, food from the Lazio region, leather goods and other gift items. The carousel is also back along with creative workshops for children and live performances. The market is open daily from 09.00 to 01.00 on weekdays and until 02.00 on weekends and holidays.
Giftland
The Giftland vintage Christmas market will be held on two weekends in December (6,7,8 and 13-14). There are plenty of gift ideas on offer including crafts, toys, prints, books, plants and vinyl records. Open 11.00-20.00. San Paolo District, Via Alessandro Savero 48.
Ficus al Massimo
Garum – Museo della Cucina overlooking the Circus Maximus hosts an artisan Christmas market on two weekends: 6,7,8 and 20-21 December. The items on sale include handcrafted jewellery, tailored clothes and bags, bespoke ceramics and candles, lamps, illustrations, gramophones, plants, vintage radios, books and handmade wellness products. 10.30-20.00. Il Natale a Roma
The area around the laghetto in the EUR district will host a Christmas Village from 1 December until 6 January 2026, with free entry 10.00-21.30. Along with Christmas markets, the event offers children the chance to meet Santa Claus and have fun ice skating. A novelty this year will be a 50-m high ferris wheel. For details see website.
Christmas World
Although not a market, this festive open-air event has stalls selling toys, sweets, decorations, Christmas-themed food and gift items. There are carousels, ice-skating, games, elves, Santa Claus. Hailed as one of the largest Christmas villages in Europe, Christmas World takes place at the Galloppatoio in Villa Borghese from 29 November to 12 January 2026. Piazza Mazzini Christmas market
The Christmas version of the twice-monthly market of collectibles takes place at the usual Piazza Mazzini venue in the heart of the Prati district. The market offers Christmas decorations and antique gifts and is open daily from 1 December until 6 January 2026, from 09.00-19.30.
Japan Days
With more than 100 stalls, the Christmas version of the Mercatino Giapponese will be held at the Ippodromo Capannelle over the weekend of 13-14 December. For details see website.
Green Market Christmas Festival
Green Market Festival on Christmas festival returns to Città dell’Altra Economia in the ex-Mattatoio complex in Testaccio on two weekends: 6,7,8 and 20-21 December. On offer is a range of artisan crafts, books, natural products and wellness treatments alongside workshops, a children’s space, holistic activities and artistic performances.
