Move follows election of Pope Leo XIV.
The Vatican has undertaken a complete redesign of its official website for the first time since launching the digital platform on Christmas Day in 1995.
Visitors to the Vatican.va site are now met with an image of the newly elected Pope Leo XIV with a more modern layout compared to the previous outdated version.
The redesign includes improvements to navigation, accessibility and the overall user experience.
The website can be browsed in nine languages, including Latin, and features a news section and papal calendar.
The “Magisterium” section contains homilies, speeches and messages by Pope Leo XIV along with several main sections on the home page: Tickets for Papal Audiences and Celebrations; Jubilaeum 2025; the charitable fund Peter’s Pence; and Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network.
The website was first developed and launched 30 years ago by the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, today the Dicastery for Communication.
