{"id":45721,"date":"2026-04-21T14:43:28","date_gmt":"2026-04-21T12:43:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polinex.cluster021.hosting.ovh.net\/index.php\/2026\/04\/21\/italy-marks-public-holiday-on-1-may-with-rome-concert\/"},"modified":"2026-04-21T14:43:28","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T12:43:28","slug":"italy-marks-public-holiday-on-1-may-with-rome-concert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/polinex.cluster021.hosting.ovh.net\/index.php\/2026\/04\/21\/italy-marks-public-holiday-on-1-may-with-rome-concert\/","title":{"rendered":"Italy marks public holiday on 1 May with Rome concert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n<br \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Workers&#8217; Day in Italy is celebrated with free concert\u00a0in Rome<\/strong>.<\/h2>\n<p>Italy celebrates Labour Day, a\u00a0national public holiday,\u00a0with a free concert in\u00a0Rome&#8217;s Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano on 1 May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The Festa dei Lavoratori or Festa del Lavoro falls on a Friday this year so will result in a day off for Italy&#8217;s schools and public offices, leading to a\u00a0long weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Known as the\u00a0<em>concertone<\/em>, the annual concert is billed as the biggest free music event in Europe,\u00a0attracting established Italian acts alongside rising stars.<\/p>\n<p>Organised by Italy&#8217;s trade unions, the concert is also used as a platform to promote workers&#8217; rights, confronting issues ranging from discrimination against women to safety in the workplace.<\/p>\n<p>The concert, from 15.00 until midnight, will be broadcast live on Rai3, Radio2 and RaiPlay.<\/p>\n<p>The 2026 line-up features around 40 acts including\u00a0Angelica Bove, Birthh, Delia, Ditonellapiaga, Eddie Brock, Emma Nolde, Fulminacci, Frah Quintale, Geolier, La Ni\u00f1a, Riccardo Cocciante, Sayf and Litfiba.<\/p>\n<p>More names are set to be announced in the coming days.<\/p>\n<p>The Primo Maggio event will result in numerous traffic diversions in the area on Monday as well as the closure of San Giovanni metro station.<\/p>\n<p>Those wishing to arrive by subway are advised to get out at either Manzoni or Re di Roma.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about the concert see\u00a0Primo Maggio website. <em>Photo Roma Capitale<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Workers&#8217; Day in Italy is celebrated with free concert\u00a0in Rome.
