{"id":39050,"date":"2025-10-09T17:40:36","date_gmt":"2025-10-09T15:40:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/polinex.cluster021.hosting.ovh.net\/index.php\/2025\/10\/09\/italys-leaders-hail-gaza-peace-deal\/"},"modified":"2025-10-09T17:40:36","modified_gmt":"2025-10-09T15:40:36","slug":"italys-leaders-hail-gaza-peace-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/polinex.cluster021.hosting.ovh.net\/index.php\/2025\/10\/09\/italys-leaders-hail-gaza-peace-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"Italy&#8217;s leaders hail Gaza peace deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n<br \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Meloni and Salvini pay tribute to Trump as Israel and Hamas agree to first phase of Gaza peace plan<\/strong>.<\/h2>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s right-wing government on Thursday welcomed a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, brokered by US president Donald Trump, to end a two-year war in the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n<p>Trump said on Thursday that Israel and Hamas have agreed to the first phase of his Gaza peace plan, following three days of intense talks in Egypt between Israel and Hamas.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni said the agreement of the first phase of Trump\u2019s peace plan is &#8220;extraordinary news, paving the way for a ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all the hostages and the withdrawal of Israeli forces on agreed terms&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Meloni thanked Trump for &#8220;having tirelessly sought an end to the conflict in Gaza, and the mediators \u2013 Egypt, Qatar and T\u00fcrkiye \u2013 for their efforts&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>She pledged that Italy will &#8220;continue to support the mediators\u2019 efforts and is ready to contribute to the stabilisation, reconstruction and development of Gaza&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c8 una giornata bellissima, straordinaria, emozionante.
