Italian design duo Dolce & Gabbana will\u00a0showcase their\u00a0latest collections in Rome, from 12-16 July, choosing the Eternal City as a location for the first time in their 40-year career.<\/p>\n
The catwalks, which will include shows of the women’s and men’s haute couture as well as jewellery,\u00a0will be staged against the backdrop of some of Rome’s most iconic landmarks.<\/p>\n
Titled ‘The Triumph of Beauty’, the five-day event kicks off on Via Veneto on Saturday 12 July with a tribute to Fellini and the Dolce Vita.<\/p>\n
This is followed by the presentation of\u00a0the Alta Gioielleria collection at Villa Adriana in Tivoli on Sunday 13 July, in a tribute to Emperor Hadrian with rubies, diamonds and sapphires.<\/p>\n
On Monday 14 July the Alta Moda collection will be presented at the Roman Forum, ahead of the upcoming presentation of\u00a0the ‘Artistic Illumination of the Roman Forum \u2013 Palatine’ project sponsored by\u00a0Dolce&Gabbana.<\/p>\n
“We came here with the intention of showing in the Roman Forum, because for us it represents the beginning of Rome, the sacred road, the starting point from which everything happened” – Domenico Dolce said during a presentation at city hall on Friday – “We will modestly try to pay tribute to Roman culture, starting from ancient Rome to the fashion of the 1950s.”<\/p>\n
