The speculation is not random. Dua Lipa’s connection to Palermo is documented and public. In the summer of 2025 she spent several days in the city with her partner Callum Turner, the British actor widely tipped to become the next James Bond. The couple stayed at Villa Igiea, visited the Palatine Chapel, the Cathedral, and the church of Santa Caterina, wandered Via Maqueda, ate cannoli, and drank aperitivi with a view of the sea. When Lipa posted the photographs on Instagram, she captioned them simply: “Palermo in my heart.”
After the Palermo trip she spoke about the city at a concert in Pristina, citing the cannoli, the spaghetti, and the arancina as highlights. For a global pop star who could have been anywhere, the specificity of that affection registered.
Lipa and Turner have been together since 2024 and made their relationship public in 2025. Turner is among the frontrunners to take on the role of James Bond, adding a layer of cultural wattage to a couple that already generates considerable attention.
